To inspect for a mice or rat infestation, we start by looking for droppings, which are small and dark for mice and larger for rats, often found near food, along walls, or in hidden spaces. Check for gnaw marks on wood, wires, or packaging, as rodents chew constantly to keep their teeth sharp. Look for grease marks or tracks along baseboards or dusty surfaces, as these pests tend to follow the same paths. Inspect for burrows or nests made of shredded material like paper or fabric in hidden areas. Lastly, listen for scratching or scurrying sounds, especially at night, and sniff for a musky odor in areas with heavy rodent activity. Identifying these signs early helps address the problem before it worsens.
